Alfred was the funniest kid in Lincoln Elem. He came from N.Y., so had quite an accent - one I had never heard before at that time. He was skinny and had big eyes and a real comic. I distinctly remember how he said the word 'quarter' - something like 'kwahtah' - really cracked us all up. I didn't have much contact with him after that, but a good guy.
