I am so sorry about the departure of Denise James. We were not close friends but I had her in my German class and a P. E. class at Cal-State Hayward.  I just remember how cerebral and intelligent she was.

When we were in college, I remember her telling me, that she experimented to see how long  she could function without getting any sleep.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Denise. Prayers to her husband Russ and family. We grew up together attending Thomas Jefferson Elementary school through San Leandro High.  Lots of memories in Brownies and Girl Scouts. I hadn't seen Denise since graduation but we tried to stay in touch at Christmas. Heaven has gained an Angel who will be greatly missed by her family, friends and community.
