I am so sad to hear about my "best childhood friend". Dave and I grew up together. Our houses were seperated by just one home on Sybil Ave. We went to McKinley, Bancroft and of course SL together.
Remember those childhood days of sliding down the hills on cardboard boxes---playing baseball out at the SL Park, running though the tube at Lake Chabot and taking his dads 52 Olds out for a ride when we were only 10.
I remeber the day he got his Olds 442 and always will remember the days walking with him in the early evening to his wife's home Helen, to do homework----at least I did.
Dave, the memory of our childhood friendship will always be there....May your spirit be with us always. May God Bless you, Helen and your family................Peace my brother-Peace.....

Some of my earliest childhood memories revolve around Dave. He was a good man and a good friend during a lifetime of friendship. I view Dave as the consummate gentleman. I will miss him dearly, my prayers and thought to Helen and all of his family.

So sad to hear about the passing of David. My prayers and thoughts go out to Helen, his kids and family. Taken from us much to early. My God bless you and keep you in his embrace.

I was a classmate of Dave's from the second grade on, when I transferred from Washington School to McKinley. So sorry to hear of his death, amid so much depressing news from all over. Seize and savor every moment we're given. God bless Helen and the family.

I was another McKinley alumni with Dave since kindergarten. It is so sad to hear of the loss of one of our childhood friends. My thoughts and prayers are with Helen, and the family. I agree with Mark Coogan. Life is way too short, time seems to go faster the older we get. Enjoy every day, enjoy your kids and grandkids, and make memories. -Warm thoughts from Terri Gladstein Heath
